Networking Safety & Consent Policy

Networking Should Always Feel Safe and Respectful

Kampus Konnect allows you to connect with classmates, student leaders, campus organizations, creatives, athletes, mentors, and future collaborators. Whether you’re building your brand, finding study partners, or making professional moves — every interaction must be respectful, consensual, and appropriate.

What Professional Consent Means

Consent applies to networking too, not just dating.
All networking interactions must be:

Respectful — no harassment, coercion, or unwanted pressure
Purposeful — focus on the reason for the Konnection (study, project, business, etc.)
Bounded — stay within the limits the other person set
Mutual — both people agree to the conversation or collaboration
Reversible — either person may end communication at any time

You cannot demand someone’s time, attention, or labor.

What Is Not Professional Consent

These behaviors are not appropriate or allowed:
• Pressuring someone to collaborate or help you
• Sending unsolicited promos, spam, or business pitches
• Turning a networking Konnection into a dating conversation without consent
• Using someone's academic or professional goals to manipulate them
• Continuing to message after someone disengages or declines

Respect boundaries — digital or in person.

Messaging Expectations for Networking

When sending networking messages inside Kampus Konnect:
• Introduce yourself clearly
• State your purpose (project, club, event, idea, opportunity, etc.)
• Keep messages respectful and on-topic
• Do not pressure anyone to respond immediately
• Accept “no,” “not right now,” or no response
• Avoid repeated follow-ups or forced engagement
• Never guilt-trip or manipulate someone for declining

Professional interactions require patience and respect.

Safe Networking Meet-Ups

If you meet a Konnection in person for networking:
• Meet in public or on-campus spaces (library, union, study lounge, café)
• Keep first meetings short and purpose-focused
• Share your plans with a roommate or friend if you don’t know the person well
• Bring your own materials and transportation
• Leave if the conversation becomes uncomfortable or inappropriate
You never owe anyone more access than you choose to give.

Zero-Tolerance Policies for Networking Misconduct

Kampus Konnect will remove or restrict users who:
• Harass or pressure other users
• Use networking as a cover for unwanted romantic or sexual advances
• Engage in bullying, academic sabotage, or hostile behavior
• Attempt to intimidate, embarrass, or threaten someone
• Exploit a student’s academic or professional goals
• Engage in discrimination, hate speech, or harassment

Networking requires trust — and we take that seriously.

Maintaining Digital Boundaries

Healthy networking means respecting digital space:
• Don’t message repeatedly without a response
• Don’t track or ask why someone isn't available
• Don’t share personal contact info unless you choose to
• Don’t demand access to private accounts or platforms
• Don’t move the conversation off KK unless both parties agree

Your digital boundaries are yours to set.

Blocking & Reporting

If someone crosses professional or personal boundaries:
• Block them immediately
• Report the behavior through the in-app tools

Reports are confidential, and KK reviews all misconduct promptly.

By continuing, you agree to:

• Respect professional and personal boundaries
• Engage in purposeful, appropriate networking
• Communicate clearly and respectfully
• Avoid harassment, spam, or pressure
• Follow KK’s Safety, Consent, and Community Standards

• Use the platform responsibly for academic, social, and professional growth
